A Meal Out...The Bridge, Prebbleton

Today the boss took the team out of town to have a meeting, what was originally going to be a coffee but turned out to be lunch in the pretty town of Prebbleton.

The Bridge is a pretty little bar & cafe which has a restaurant as part of it, and a relaxing feel.

I was going to settle with a 8" Meat Lovers Pizza, but once The Pasta of the Day was read out, I decided on this...although I am always wary of POA as the fare on the menu.

The pasta was chicken, bacon and spinach on what I think was penne with spring onions and Parmesan garnishing it. It was served on a monster of a plate however disappointingly (as is the case with a lot of places) the serving itself was a small island in the middle of a big ocean. But my god, it tasted great!

I had finished my meal well before anyone else ( which is normal for my eating) but on the side of my plate were two small bits of either very tough gristle or bones form the bacon which always has a tendency to ruin a meal, especially as it has you tenderly eating each following mouthful.

With a handle of Macs Gold (on tap of course) it went down very well, being not overly creamy, and full of taste - the chicken was cooked beautifully. For $18.50 though, I personally think this is way too much for a pasta meal.

All in all, this is a very nice place to head out for lunch, and even the dinner menu looks inviting. I think choosing from the menu may be the difference between a good meal and a disappointing one which is a shame as you should be able to choose anything off the menu and be satisfied. Two others chose the chicken sandwich which looked great and certainly big - I didn't ask what they thought of their meal as it wouldn't be subjective.
